Baylor University 2022 Homecoming
Baylor University's 113-year of homecoming welcomes alumni and families back to campus for a weekend full of sports and events.
Students have the opportunity to participate in many activities put on by the university, bringing the students and community together. Throughout the week, Baylor hosts events, including a bonfire and pep rally at McLane Stadium, Pigskin, homecoming parade, dinner with the Livingstones.
“I was able to attend the bonfire with my mom on Thursday night. Being able to experience that for the first time with my mom was so much fun. She was able to see what Baylor is all about,” Gia Pozzi, Baylor sophomore from Spring Valley, Illinois, said.
Many of these events are unique to Baylor; the university welcomes the students’ friends and family to participate in these traditions. It was not only students and alumni of the university welcome but families as well.
“We plan on going to the football game this weekend. They have come to football games before, but I am excited to bring them to this one. Kansas has been a really strong team this year, so it should be a good game for them to come watch,” Pozzi said.
The 3-3 Baylor Bears will be taking on the 5-2 Kansas Jayhawks this Saturday at the university homecoming game. The alumni tailgate will be taking place for graduates to reconnect with old friends before the homecoming game, with food and worship before the start.
“I would have to say my favorite part of homecoming week is dinner with the Livingstones. All the food trucks from around Waco come together to put a great event on for the students. The Livingstones are always so present; it really shows everyone how much they want to know the students that go here,” Pozzi said.
Dinner with the Livingstones, hosted each year by the university, lets students come to campus for a free meal and to get to know President Linda A. Livingstone, and her husband Brad Livingstone.
