Juice WRLD:

Tupac Shakur:

Both of these articles were from the New York Times, so it was easy to compare them. They did a great job talking about their accomplishments in the music industry and their career within that. Something that I wish they would have put a little sooner was where they were born and how they got into music. It was very low in both articles, which most people wouldn’t read that far down in the article. The first half of the obituary was strictly talking about the music that they made, which I think most people that are reading it would know that they are rappers, but they might not know the background of their life or how they got into music. In Tupac's obituary, the way they described his music to me was very negative. They talked greatly about how negative his music was and the consequences of it. I would have put how he got into music and his background on him before talking down to the work that he did. The Juice WRLD obituary has many more quotes from him and people that were close to him and spoke very highly of the music that he created. Whereas Tupac they had very few quotes from himself and other people. Both of the obituaries stated in the lead that they had died and the age of death. Juice WRLDs included where he died in the lead, but Tupac’s did not. Tupac’s had no pictures or videos of him throughout the article. Juice WRLDs started out with a large picture of him followed up, but more pictures and videos of him throughout the whole thing. It might be that they were written in very different periods of time, but all of the other ones that I looked at had at least one picture. Seeing as though both of these were written by the same news outlet, they are very different in the wording that is used. I would have put the background of the artiste up higher in both articles and written kinder words on Tupac, not focusing on the negative things that he did throughout his life.
